Illinois State 2006 Vagina Monologues

This was my first time attending a produciton of "The Vagina Monologues"

My roommate and best friend Sara participated and read in the 2006 Illinois State University Production of "The Vagina Monologues" by Eve Ensler.

The Vagina Monologues, Feb 17,18, 19th.  Performances begin at 7pm on Friday and Saturday; Sunday matinee begins at 2pm. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $7 general admission and $5 students/seniors. The location for all performances is the Prairie Room in the Bone Student Center. The Vagina Monologues is an annual performance hosted by the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance at ISU. The Vagina Monologues are part of Eve Ensler’s VDAY campaign which promotes ending violence against women.  The proceeds from ticket sales will go to the VDAY foundation and local charities.

This was Sara's speaking part in the production:

"THE VAGINA WORKSHOP"
(Said with a slight English accent - Originally performed by Gillian Anderson as part of a fund-raiser for charities campaigning for an end to violence against women. The performance took place in London.)

"My vagina is a shell, a round pink tender shell, opening and closing, closing and opening. My vagina is a flower, an eccentric tulip, the center acute and deep, the scent delicate, the petals gentle but sturdy...."

Sara did such a great job as did the rest of the cast!
